Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is a regional Indian political party with nationalistic principles and ethos founded in 1982 by Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR).
NTR, the founder of the TDP, drawing inspiration from the Buddhist doctrine- ‘Sangham Saranam Gacchami’ (I go to the Sangha for Refuge), believed and strongly advocated “సమాజమే దేవాలయం – ప్రజలే దేవుళ్ళు” (The society is the temple – the people are the gods).
NTR strongly believes in democracy and once said “I am neither a socialist, nor a communist, nor a capitalist… I am a humanist.” Thus, humanistic and democratic principles are entrenched into the Telugu Desam Party’s vision. NTR also espouses that Telugu Desam Party is not just a political a party but a great people’s movement to liberate the poor from hunger and poverty and accord equity and justice.
In tune with this philosophy, the Party was built to ensure exponential, inclusive, and sustainable socioeconomic growth of the State of Andhra Pradesh. The Party intends to achieve its mission by involving people at the forefront, accompanied by a range of organisations, professionals, academicians, and experts for collective wisdom and actions. Therefore, the Party acts as a catalyst for the State’s and Country’s sustainable transformation.

Achievements of Krishna
Right leader at right time for the right reason
GDDP of Krishna District is Rs. 97059 Crores for the year 2017-18. This is highest GDDP District in the State. The GVA of the District stands at 1st place with Rs.88829 Crores for the year 2017-18 at Current Prices
Gross District Domestic Product (GDDP) Growth Rate at Constant prices in 2017-18 is 12.09%. Gross District Value Added (GDVA) Growth Rate at Constant Prices in 2017-18 is 12.26%
The Economy of the Krishna District mainly depends on Agriculture & allied sectors. Its contribution to the total economy in terms of GVA is Rs.36073 Crores for the year 2017-18. This is highest in the State.
The GVA of Fishing and Aqua culture registered Rs.17355 Crores ranks 1st in the State.

Chandrababu Naidu is a visionary and democratic thought leader. He is way ahead of his time with his vision and actions. He often visualises what no one else sees, finding potential and opportunity in times of crisis or change. In rallying the State behind his vision and goals, he empowers government machinery and people and sets them free to innovate, experiment, and take calculated risks to envisage pioneering new possibilities.
Chandrababu Naidu became the State’s youngest assembly member in 1978 and the youngest minister at 28. He scaled exponentially in the political arena and served the longest term as Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh from 1995 to 2004 and from 2014 to 2019. Incidentally, he is the longest-serving leader of the opposition too.

Each active party member will receive personal insurance coverage for 250,000 in the case of unavoidable injuries, 22 lakh for long-term disability, 1 lakh for partly handicapped individuals, and 22 lakh in the event of a fatal accident.
